Quote Line Editor in Salesforce CPQ provides options to add or remove products, adjust product quantities, apply discounts or markups and calculate prices for the products added on the quote.
By default, Quote Line Editor shows products added on the quote and specific fields from the Quote Line object.
Sometimes you might need to add some of the Quote Fields on Quote Line Editor so that Sales Reps in your organization can change their values and see the changes in quote’s price then and their itself instead of going back and forth on quote edit page and Quote Line Editor.
Use Case
Joy Lobo works as a CPQ Administrator at Universal Containers (UC). Sales reps at UC are complaining about the current behavior of CPQ Quote Line Editor. Currently they can only CHANGE fields on the products that they have selected on a quote but NOT the Quote Fields.
Reps want the ability to update below Quote fields WHILE doing the product configurations in the Quote Line Editor and see the change in Total Quote Price then and there itself.

How to Setup?
- Navigate to Setup | Build | Create | Objects| Quote. From the Field Sets related list, click Edit next to Line Editor Field Set.

Well, adding Quote fields on the Quote Line Editor is pretty easy. You just need to follow 2 steps and here you are.
Check the Quote Line Editor by navigating to Quote. Click Edit Lines button. Sales reps can now update the values in these fields and click Calculate button to see the price change on the quote.
